Backpacking Trip
When: August 2nd-5th
Where: The Bruce Peninsula in Ontario, CA
Cost: $90 ($25 deposit is due by July 15th)
We will be taking a backpacking trip this summer to the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario, Canada. This is an absolutely beautiful place to backpack. The trail we will be backpacking & hiking on is right on the coast of the beautiful & rocky shore line of the Georgian Bay. The scenery doesn’t get much better than here. Our campsites are right on the water. We will backpack all our gear in on the first day and out on the last day. On the two days in between, our gear will remain at our campsites while we take day hikes to explore the grottos, caves, and cliffs that the Bruce has to offer! Costs include travel, lodging, and food while we’re backpacking. You will need to bring extra money for food on the road including a whitefish dinner at a restaurant in Tobermory on our last day after we get off of the trails.
A few important items:
-You will need either a passport card or passport book to get into Canada for this trip.
- This trip is designed to accommodate both beginners and more advanced backpackers/hikers
- All group gear will be provided (ie. stoves, tents, pots/pans, water purifiers, etc…) You do need a backpack though. We have a number of nice north face ones here at church you can borrow or you can rent one from REI if the ones we have don’t fit you.
